Ice Arena Facility Worker

Starting Hourly Rate: $16.52
 
Collects money for general admission and will work in the food service operation as well as the admissions and retail operation. Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility to include spraying and wiping down high contact areas like locker rooms, bathrooms, benches, doors, etc. Maintenance and upkeep of facility and related equipment required. Mechanical aptitude and strong people skills most desirable. May be assigned as a rink attendant. While rink attending, attendants are responsible for the safety and well-being of the general public skaters and for enforcing the established rink rules and regulations. May also be assigned as a scorekeeper for the adult hockey games. Responsible for answering the facility telephone and disseminating public information. Able to follow written and oral instructions. 
 
Required Qualifications: 
    * If hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than their start date or have a City of Ann Arbor approved medical / religious exemption
    * Minimum age requirement of 16 years
    * Experience in operating a cash register
    * Able to work with minimum supervision
    * Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Please see link for list of approved organizations.  
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
 
Basic knowledge in principles of recreational facility activities, with some college course.
 
Physical Requirements: 
 
May exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
