Position Overview
 
The CAD Designer/Drafter is responsible of transforming conceptual as well as architectural designs into fabrication-ready drawing packages using Computer Aided Design (CAD). Description of the work:
·        Generate comprehensive detailed drawing packages using documents and information provided from the Project Management and Estimating Staff, including: architectural prints, sales quotes, purchase orders, and conceptual sketches. Drawings to be primarily completed using 2D AutoCAD.
·        Create parts drawings in G&MC drawing style for newly-implemented systems to use in current drawings, and to improve efficiency of future drawings.
·        Collaborate with Project Management and the Engineering Manager to ensure timely and accurate release of submittals and drawings for production of glass and hardware fabrication.
·        Review engineered drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
·        Develop knowledge of the company’s fabrication capabilities. Work with project managers while designing to ensure that drawings convey the correct fabrication information.
·        Work through redlines with project managers.
·        Assist project managers, other team members, and other departments as necessary.
 
Qualifications
·        1-2 years of experience within CAD Design/Drafting
·        Be able to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining extreme accuracy and organization.
·        Have strong computer skills, particularly AutoCAD
·        Demonstrable problem-solving ability
·        Bachelor’s Degree within Engineering is preferred but will also accept a relevant Associate’s degree with CAD Design/Drafting experience.
