Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer
Glass and Metal Craft (G+MC) is one of the Top 30 fabricators of custom glass and metal engineered solutions in North America. For over 25 years, our architectural systems and glass fabrication have been deployed on stunning high-rise and monumental building projects across the country.
The role of the Quality Engineer is to help create solutions as part of the Quality, Engineering and Production teams. The Quality Engineer’s main role is to implement effective quality controls, teach production staff how to use them and supervise outcomes. Quality Engineers design automated testing systems and quality control workflows to improve efficiency of quality assurance process. They collect data about instances of product errors and investigate possible solutions by troubleshooting the manufacturing and design process.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures products meet the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process’ recommends and/or implements corrective measures
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in the product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrences and future defects
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, making recommendations, and presenting to the team
  • Formulate a strategic plan to increase productivity in the business
  • Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
  • Customer quality issues and problem solving to include customer communication and customer visits as required
  • Generate inspection plans, reporting formats and work instructions for specific process areas
  • Develop and promote new QMS

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent experience
  • 3 + years of manufacturing experience
  • Analysis, critical thinking, organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication, interpersonal and math skills
  • Strong knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods, tools, and quality manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work in groups or independently
  • Must have high urgency
