Union Recycling Collections Driver
Under the direction of the Curbside Manager, the Curbside Collections Driver will ensure outstanding customer service, efficient material processing, and a successful recycle environment to meet the recovery goals of Recycle Ann Arbor.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Driving and operation of collection vehicle on daily recycling routes.
- Quality control and processing of materials collected.
- Collection of missed pick-ups.
- Attention to safety at all times including the safe operation of collection vehicles.
- Perform accurate record keeping.
- Perform daily pre/post-trip truck inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of assigned truck.
- Train new hires (as required).
- Other duties, as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must possess the following job requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and the willingness to perform physical labor in all types of weather on a daily basis.
- Ability to work within and contribute to a teamwork environment.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse customer base, and have exceptional, demonstrated customer service skills.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Reliable transportation.
- Possess a CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement, a good driving record, and ability to safely operate a residential route truck.
- Possess a current DOT medical certificate.
This is a DOT regulated position. Post-offer, pre-hire candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol, safety, and driving history checks per DOT driver qualifications requirements and must hold a valid DOT medical certificate.
