Account Manager Trainee

Position and Program Overview:
As an Account Manager Trainee, you will be a part of FinishMaster’s Sales Leadership Development Program (SLDP), which provides college graduates with hands on sales, industry, and leadership training and the opportunity to participate in strategic initiatives. The SLDP is designed to cultivate Sales Leaders within the organization, where you will have a defined career path to grow.  
As a trainee, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and growing existing accounts, as well as, learning, and understanding product lines and preparing sales related documentation. You will support business development activities by providing exceptional service to customers through superior inventory management and account support.
Account Manager Trainees are provided with a mentor to ensure success and career development.

Essential Functions:
Maintains and grows Accounts:
·        Delivers exceptional service to a diverse set of customer types by understanding and proactively responding to their needs.
·        Identifies customer needs and looks to expand our offerings with existing accounts.
·        Develops strong partnerships with sales team, branch employees and vendor representatives.
·        Collaborate with vendor representatives in planning, targeting, and positioning efforts.
·        Able to manage data of a confidential nature.
·        Manages customer inventory and helps establish appropriate stocking levels
 
Supports activities to contribute to and elevate customer service and experience:
·        Delivers exceptional service to a diverse set of customer types by understanding and   proactively responding to their needs.
·        Contacts appropriate team members for the customer as technical issues arise.
·        Coordination of month-end sales and inventory push reports as required by customer.
·        Responsible for the maintenance of company assets including but not limited to mixing machine, computer, equipment and color documentation.
·        Responsible for the timely installation of color documentation updates for the customer.
·        Assist with installation or remodel of paint rooms.
 
Contributes to growth and success of the team:
·        Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive activities.
·        Assists in demonstrations with Tech Rep for new product lines.
·        Assists in implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety procedures.
·        Assists and supports, Account Manager, and Tech Rep as needed.
·        Assists and supports new deal growth through opportunity generation and development.
 
 
 
Targets, solicits and secures new business:
·        Gains and maintains knowledge of market and actively competes/works to increase market share.
·        Develops target accounts and plans/achieves goals.
·        Develops strong relationships with key decision makers.
 
 Position Requirements:
 
Education:
Mandatory Requirements-
·        Bachelor’s Degree
 
Preferred Requirements-
·        Field of Study: Sales or Business



 

Experience and Competencies:
Mandatory Requirements-
·        Valid driver’s license.
·        Must be open to relocation.
·        Professional/customer service-oriented demeanor.
·        Ability to successfully communicate with customers, vendors and coworkers and build great rapport.
·        Highly organized and demonstrates attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
·        Self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as work well in a team.
·        Experience in a position that deals directly with customers (front-line).
·        Ability to work well in a fast-paced competitive field environment.
 
Preferred Requirements-
·        Previous sales support or customer service experience.
 
Physical Requirements:
·        Ability to lift/carry product boxes and equipment as required.
·        Ability to travel by motor vehicle to customer locations on a daily basis.
