Operations Leadership Associate

Position and Program Overview:
FinishMaster is an industry leader in the distribution of automotive paint, refinishes, and industrial coatings. Spanning across the U.S., FinishMaster has 150 retail branches and 4 distribution centers. 
As an Operations Leadership Associate you will participate in FinishMaster’s Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP), which is a one-year cohort rotational program that provides recent college graduates with hands on industry experience while cultivating leadership and operations management skills. As part of this rotational program, Operations Leadership Associates participate in strategic initiatives to support our branches and distribution centers while gaining exposure to multiple business divisions including Sales and Supply Chain.

OLDP Rotations:
The first year of the OLDP will be made up of four rotations of varying lengths. Ability to travel required. New OLDP participants will join a cohort of incoming associates for a week-long orientation starting in June 2023. The other rotations are as follows:
·        The first rotation of the OLDP will focus on Distribution Center Operations (5 months). In this rotation, Associates will learn about our products, the industry, and key processes within our distribution centers that drive our supply chain. Once foundational knowledge is established Associates will work on initiatives centered on process improvements within a DC to increase efficiency.
 
·        The second portion of the program will focus on Branch Operations (2 months). Associates will learn the day-to-day operations of our branches, while also gaining insight into the duties and responsibilities of each branch role. Through this rotation, the Associate will gain a clear understanding of how we support our customers every day.
 
·        During the third rotation Associates will spend time with the Sales and Field Support teams (1 month). Shadowing Account Managers and Technical Reps will provide valuable insight of our sales process and how we support our customers’ needs. Through this rotation, Associates will gain a clear understanding of how Sales and Operations work together to deliver for our customers.
 
·        The fourth rotation of the OLDP will focus on the role and responsibilities of our Branch Managers (4 months). Associates will perform Branch Manager duties and lead process improvement projects in a branch.
 
Training and Development:
Not only will Associates gain on the job knowledge and skills, but they will also have additional opportunities to grow their professional skills:
·        Associates will be assigned a mentor to help guide career development
·        Associates will go through a Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification program
·        As a cohort, Associates will participate in a two-month Front Line Leadership Program to begin cultivating their leadership skills

Post OLDP:
Once Associates have completed their first 12 months of training they will be placed as an Operations Lead within FinishMaster.

Ability to travel and relocate is required.

Possible work assignments as an Operations Lead include:

·        Leading Critical Operations Projects
·        Distribution Management
·        Supply Chain

Position Requirements:
Education:
Mandatory Requirements
·        Bachelor’s Degree
 
Preferred Requirements-
·        Field of Study: Business, Operations Management or related field.

Experience and Competencies:
Mandatory Requirements-
·        Valid driver’s license.
·        Must be open to relocation. Relocation locations for the first year of the program may include but are not limited to: Adel, GA, Grand Prairie, TX, Mira Loma, CA, and Grand Rapids, MI
·        Professional/customer service-oriented demeanor.
·        Strong problem-solving skills: ability to think strategically and critically in developing solutions to complex problems.
·        Must be highly organized and demonstrate attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
·        Ability to work well in a fast-paced competitive field environment.
