Assembly Technician

You will be party of a small team assembling various solar street lighting systems and components. Prior experience working with your hands and putting together small to large-scale parts with speed and dexterity will ensure your success in this fast-paced environment. You are someone who wants to learn about renewable energy systems, product assembly, systems integration, and quality assurance in a small, intimate and exciting company environment. 

  

Job Description

·        Perform basic, standardized assembly operations

·        Ensure assemblies and components are properly handled and marked

·        Utilize hand tools and shop equipment

·        Visually inspect parts and components for proper insertion and placement

·        Work diligently to accomplish daily quota, tasks or assigned projects

·        Follow detailed written or verbal instructions, including visual aids

·        Monitor and re-stock parts bins as required

·        Ensure that assembly and warehouse area is clean and organized

·        Assist with testing and quality assurance procedures

·        Assist with packaging of final assembled product, and warehousing/preparation for shipments

·        Adhere to safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position

Job Requirements and Qualifications

·       HS diploma required; Minimum Associate Degree or Technical Certificate preferred

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

·        Must pass a Pre-Employment drug test and background check

·        Must be local (Southeast Michigan); no re-location offered at this time

·        Must possess the following attributes and skill-sets:

o   Good hand/eye coordination

o   Fabrication workshop experience preferred, including ability to safely and competently work with hand tools

o   Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and established procedures, as well as identify and suggest process improvements if needed

o   Strong attention to detail

o   Ability to lift 30 lbs.

o   A great work ethic with high integrity and honesty, and a willingness to listen and learn
