Title: Automotive Mechanic
Our client, a global company that partners with large, well-known manufacturers in the automotive industry in the areas of design, prototype, test, integrate, manufacture and assemble in the areas of e-Mobility, Autonomous Vehicles, performance vehicles, race cars, etc., is in need of Mechanics at their Allen Park and Livonia locations. The positions are long-term contract with the possibility of direct hire.

Locations: Allen Park & Livonia
Pay: $18 – 23/hr.
Job Summary:
The Automotive Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
Education and Experience (required):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of previous experience required, pay dependent on experience
- Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment
Education and Experience (preferred):
- Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
- State Mechanic Certification(s)
- Valid driver’s license.
