Business Clerk

May - August 2018 • Pontiac, MI

What I liked

I enjoyed the opportunity to work in the Courthouse; I was exposed to many day to day operations that I wouldn’t have been exposed to in other jobs.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a larger variety in my responsibilities; my employers kept telling me they’d train me in new areas, but it never happened.

Advice

It’s a good place to get exposure to the government, but it’s difficult to get hired. Try to do a ride along and get to know officers and sheriffs, and you’ll have someone on the inside for a good recommendation.

I wish the management team had been better. There wasn't a lot of communication and disputes were not solved justly.

A great place to work to make some good money over the summer. Made a lot of lifelong friends.
